Barcelona Coast Tour

  • From €94 / person
  • ~6–7 min flight
  • 25 min total
  • 3–6 (shared)
  • Robinson R44 / Airbus AS355

The Barcelona Coast Tour is a shared helicopter flight along the city's shoreline, lifting off from the Port heliport at Port Vell for about six to seven minutes in the air. At €94 per person it's the most affordable way to see Barceloneta, Port Vell and Torre Glòries from above, with the full experience — check-in through landing — wrapped up in 25 minutes.

What you'll see

  1. Take-off (Port heliport)

The flight begins at the passenger heliport on Paseo Escullera, right at the edge of Port Vell in central Barcelona.

  2. La Barceloneta Beach

The helicopter climbs over La Barceloneta, the grid-planned 18th-century fishing quarter that gives way to the city's most popular beach.

  3. Port Vell & W Hotel

Below sits Port Vell's marina and the sail-shaped W Hotel Barcelona rising off the Barceloneta shoreline.

  4. World Trade Center

The route passes the World Trade Center Barcelona, the crescent-shaped office and hotel complex built out on its own pier in the harbor.

  5. Columbus Monument

The 60-metre Columbus Monument at the foot of La Rambla marks the point where the old port meets the historic city center.

  6. Torre Glòries

Jean Nouvel's bullet-shaped Torre Glòries tower comes into view, its glass facade catching the light over the Eixample skyline.

  7. San Sebastián & San Miguel beaches

The flight tracks north along San Sebastián and San Miguel beaches, the stretch of sand closest to the old town.

  8. Somorrostro Beach

Somorrostro Beach passes below, named after the shantytown that once stood here before the 1992 Olympics redevelopment.

  9. Besós river mouth

The tour reaches the mouth of the Besós river, where the waterway meets the Mediterranean at Barcelona's northern edge.

  10. Landing

The helicopter turns back along the coast and returns to the Port heliport for landing.

What's included

  • A shared seat aboard a Robinson R44 or Airbus AS355 alongside 2–5 other passengers
  • A noise-cancelling headset for the whole flight
  • Pre-flight safety briefing and terminal check-in
  • Free date change if your plans shift
  • Aerial views of Barceloneta, Port Vell, Torre Glòries and the Besós river mouth

Good to know before you fly

  • Arrive at the terminal 20 minutes before departure with a valid passport or national ID
  • Each passenger can weigh up to 110kg — book a second seat above that, 130kg is the absolute ceiling
  • Flights depend on weather and Barcelona–El Prat air traffic; we confirm your exact slot 24 hours ahead
  • Comfortable clothing is fine — there is no strict dress code for the flight

Frequently asked questions

How long is the Barcelona Coast Tour flight?

Flight time runs about 6–7 minutes, with the total experience — check-in, briefing and landing included — closer to 25 minutes.

What will I see on the Coast Tour?

You'll pass Barceloneta beach, Port Vell and the W Hotel, the World Trade Center, the Columbus Monument, Torre Glòries, San Sebastián and San Miguel beaches, Somorrostro Beach, and the Besós river mouth.

Is the Coast Tour a private flight?

No — it's a shared flight with other passengers, typically 3 to 6 people per departure. If you'd rather have the aircraft to yourselves, the Coast & Besós Tour covers similar coastline privately.

Which helicopter is used for the Coast Tour?

Either a Robinson R44 or an Airbus AS355, depending on group size and availability on the day.

Is €94 per person the full price, or are there extras?

That's the full price — headset, safety briefing and terminal access are all included, with nothing added at check-in.

Can children fly on the Coast Tour?

Yes, as long as they meet the standard weight and safety guidelines and carry valid photo ID like every other passenger.

Can I extend this into a longer flight?

Yes — the Coast & Besós Tour continues further up the coast to the Besós river as a private charter, and the Sky Tour adds the city's landmark skyline instead.
